PEEK material itself is not “FDA approved” — rather, medical devices made from PEEK receive FDA clearance through the 510(k) or PMA process. Many PEEK implant devices (spinal cages, dental abutments) have received FDA 510(k) clearance. The PEEK material is supported by Master Files on file with the FDA.
