PEEK Material Properties Guide: Temperature, Chemical Resistance & Mechanical Data
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is among the highest-performance thermoplastics available. This reference guide covers the mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties of NAGOMER PEEK K12N (standard) and K6B (ESD-safe), based on ASTM testing methods.
Mechanical Properties (ASTM)
Property (ASTM) | PEEK K12N Value |
Tensile Strength (D638) | ~100 MPa |
Flexural Modulus (D790) | ~3.8 GPa |
Impact Strength, Notched (D256) | ~4.5 kJ/m2 |
Density (D792) | 1.30 g/cm3 |
Water Absorption, 24h (D570) | 0.5% |
Thermal Properties
· Melting Temperature (D3418): 343 C
· Glass Transition Temperature (D3418): 143 C
· Continuous Service Temperature: 260 C (UL 746B)
· Flammability: UL 94 V-0 (1.5mm thickness)
Chemical Resistance Summary
· Excellent: Acids (dilute), alkalis, hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones
· Good: Concentrated sulfuric acid (<80%), chlorinated solvents
· Poor: Concentrated nitric acid, molten salts, UV (unstabilized grade)
Available Forms from NAGOMER
