China’s Engineering Plastics Exports: Record Volume in Q1 2026
China’s engineering plastics export sector posted record numbers in Q1 2026. According to China Customs and industry association data, high-performance polymer exports surged 23% year-on-year. Here is what international buyers need to know.
Q1 2026 Export Data at a Glance
· Total engineering plastics export volume: 487,000 metric tons (+23% YoY)
· PEEK export volume: ~3,200 tons (+41% YoY) — driven by aerospace and semiconductor demand
· POM export volume: ~89,000 tons (+12% YoY)
· PA66 export volume: ~124,000 tons (+8% YoY)
· Average export price PEEK: 82-135 USD/kg (down 8% from Q4 2025)
Top Destination Markets
· 1. Germany: 78,000 tons — automotive and industrial machinery
· 2. United States: 62,000 tons — semiconductor and aerospace (subject to Section 301 tariffs)
· 3. Vietnam: 54,000 tons — electronics assembly growth
· 4. India: 41,000 tons — automotive and consumer goods
· 5. Mexico: 38,000 tons — nearshoring to US market
Price Impact for International Buyers
The 8% PEEK price decline in Q1 2026 is attributed to new capacity coming online in Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces. For buyers, this means:
· Spot PEEK resin prices: 72-118 USD/kg (vs 80-135 USD/kg in 2025)
· NAGOMER finished products (sheets/rods): 5-12% lower RFQ prices vs Q4 2025
· ESD PEEK K6B: stable pricing (anti-static grade less sensitive to resin fluctuation)
